- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Peel, core, and dice apples into small pieces.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter.
- Gradually mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients until a thick batter forms.
- Fold in diced apples until evenly distributed.
- Spoon batter onto the baking sheet in small mounds.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Drizzle glaze over warm fritters before serving.
Notes
Use Granny Smith apples for tartness or Honeycrisp for natural sweetness. Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F for 5 minutes for the best texture.
