  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (to prevent banana browning)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the vanilla pudding. If using instant, whisk with cold milk per package instructions and chill. If making homemade, heat 2 cups of milk with ½ cup sugar, 3 egg yolks, and 1 tablespoon cornstarch over medium heat, whisking constantly until thickened. Stir in vanilla extract and let cool.
  2. Slice bananas evenly and toss with lemon juice to prevent browning.
  3. In a trifle dish or individual serving glasses, layer vanilla pudding, cake cubes or crushed cookies, and banana slices. Repeat layers, ending with a pudding layer on top.
