A no-knead, artisan-style bread with a crispy crust, infused with garlic and rosemary flavors. Baked in a cast iron skillet for the perfect texture!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 1 ¼ teaspoons kosher salt
  • ¾ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 ½ cups room-temperature water
  • 2 tablespoons cornmeal (optional, for the skillet)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, garlic, rosemary, salt, pepper, and yeast.
  2. Slowly pour in water and mix until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Cover and let rise at room temperature for 18-24 hours.
  4. Grease a 10-inch cast iron skillet and sprinkle with cornmeal.
  5. Transfer dough to a floured surface and shape into a round loaf.
  6. Place in the skillet, cover with a towel, and let rise for 2 hours.
  7. Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
  8. Bake for 30-40 minutes until golden brown and crusty.
  9. Let cool in the skillet for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For an extra-crispy crust, place a pan of ice cubes in the oven to create steam.
