Ingredients
Scale
-
- For the Peach Filling:
- 5 cups sliced frozen peaches (or fresh, peeled and sliced)
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- For the Cobbler Crust:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
- 3/4 cup milk (whole milk or 2%)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or casserole pan.
- Cook the Peaches: In a saucepan, combine peaches, sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, cornstarch, and vanilla. Cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes until tender and thickened.
- Make the Batter: In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in melted butter and milk until smooth.
- Assemble the Cobbler: Pour batter into baking dish. Spoon peach mixture over the top without stirring.
- Bake: Bake for 40–45 minutes until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbling. Let cool for 15 minutes before serving.
Notes
Use canned peaches packed in juice if needed—just drain well. Frozen peaches work great without thawing. Add blueberries or chopped pecans for variation. Broil at the end for extra golden topping if desired.
